Sapardi last breathed at Eka Hospital BSD Hospital, South Tangerang.

University of Indonesia (UI) Head of Public Relations and Public Information Bureau Amelita Lusia confirmed the news of Sapardi Djoko Damono’s death.

Until now, the cause of Sapardi Djoko Damono’s death is unknown.

Sapardi was born on March 20, 1940 in Surakarta.

Sapardi is a great Indonesian writer and academic from the University of Indonesia.

Sapardi Djoko Damono was once the Dean of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Indonesia in 1999-2004.

Marketing Communication Manager at Eka Hospital Hospital Erwin Suyanto confirmed the news of Sapardi’s death at Eka Hospital.

Erwin said, Sapardi died due to decreased organ function.

“Decreased organ function, yes,” Erwin said when confirmed Kompas.com.
